Sound Clips and Information on their CD "Small Steps"

LogoGeorge Lake Big Band

On the third Monday of every month something wonderful happens. Friends old and new gather at The Chick’n’Deli in Toronto for an evening of the best swinging big band music around, and it’s been happening for 5 years already, and we’re happy to say that we intend to be there for a good long time to come. We feel right at home in their welcoming atmosphere with friendly staff and real good eatin’. There’s a terrific patio in the summer months too.

It all started humbly enough. We just wanted a place to play, and we convinced the fine folks at the Chick’N’Deli to let us have an otherwise slow Monday night. Before we knew it our monthly Monday gig became the place to be. Now here it is, five years later, and every Monday night is a swinging big band night at the ‘Deli. Come and help us celebrate where it all started on the third Monday of the month, as we launch our sixth big year.

A venerable establishment that has long been at the heart of Toronto’s music scene, The Chick’n’Deli is conveniently located at Eglinton and Mt. Pleasant Road (see below for directions). Please join us on a 3rd Monday of the month for an evening you’re sure to enjoy. You’ll be in good company, and we won’t keep you up late. We swing from 8 to 11 p.m., and we pack a lot of music into those 3 hours. It’s all smoke free now, too, and you can e-mail us your requests!

The George Lake Big Band announces that their premiere CD, "Small Steps" is ready. Read all about it here (including how to order downloads) and also see a slide show of the band during their recording sessions. Make sure to get yours now!
